Blue Mountain Audiology, in Thornbury, is a privately owned Audiology practice. For the past 11 years, we have provided the highest standard of auditory care to patients in Grey, Bruce and Simcoe Counties. We are not corporately owned, part of a large chain or a retail 'hearing aid store'. We are a medical clinic and our primary goal is our patients' hearing health and well being.
We are fully registered with the Ministry of Health, ADP, WSIB, ODSP and Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC). We are equipped to provide complete audiological testing, prescribing and fitting of hearing aids, counseling, aural (re)habilitation, auditory training and ongoing hearing aid service to our patients. We personalize audiological treatment solutions for each patient's needs in a no obligation environment, free from sales pressure and high markups. At Blue Mountain Audiology we guarantee that the testing, prescription, fitting and follow-up will be completed by a licensed Audiologist.
Each patient presents with their own story, their own hearing health and life challenges. The initial assessment should be about patient education, followed by treatment solutions if necessary. The goal of the hearing assessment is to evaluate and challenge the auditory system to ensure that there are no health-related concerns, to establish communication needs through functional measure, to evaluate auditory processing delays; when it comes to children, to ensure there is adequate hearing for speech and language development and acknowledge the role of healthy hearing plays in academic success and future vocational skills. Healthy hearing plays a vital role in quality of life; it can even impact socioeconomic status.
Research suggests that most if not all patients will benefit with properly fit hearing aids and aural (re)habilitation programs when following best practice protocols. It's about understanding and addressing communication needs, and these needs must reflect the desired outcomes established during the assessment. Ultimately, it's about what the patient wants when they walk through the clinic door.
If you or anyone you know is suffering from the negative effects of hearing loss you owe it to yourself to seek professional audiological care from a licensed Audiologist.
